Human Biomonitoring - Interest to Policymakers, Challenge for Science -
The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Federal Environment Agency invite you to the international conference
Human Biomonitoring: Interest to Policymakers, Challenge for Science
27/28 September 2010, Berlin.
On the eve of the conference (26 September 2010) starting at 6 p.m. there will be a reception at which Niels Erik Skakkebæk (University/DK) will give a first lecture entitled “Endocrine disrupters and reproductive health: a serious research challenge”.
Human biomonitoring (HBM) is a key information and monitoring tool for health-related environmental protection. Policymakers need data that reveal whether and to what extent the population takes up substances posing a health risk. The generation and assessment of these data presents a major challenge for science. Policymakers need to be aware of the possibilities and limitations of HBM in order to use this instrument as effectively as possible. The conference wants to explore both aspects and its programme therefore comprises political as well as scientific elements.
The conference addresses experts from politics, academia, authorities, industry and associations.
Start of the conference: 27 September 2010 at 10 a.m.
End of the conference: 28 September 2010 at 5.30 p.m.
Further information will be posted on the websites of the German Federal Environment Ministry and Federal Environment Agency.
